New Delhi: Microsoft's XBox One
video game console will be available
in India starting September 23.
Priced at Rs 39,990, the Xbox One system
will include the Xbox One console -
which features a 500GB hard drive,
Blu-ray player and built-in Wi-Fi, one
Xbox One Wireless Controller, and a
free 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold
for new members.
The company will also launch the
Xbox One with Kinect at Rs 45,990.
Gamers choosing this version will be
able to experience a number of
games and entertainment experiences
exclusive to Xbox including gesture
controls, biometric sign-in, controller
paring, Skype video calls, instant
personalisation, instant scanning of
QR codes, and other features only
available with Kinect in games such
"Kinect Sports Rivals," "Dead Rising
3," and "Project Spark."
The new device interacts with a user's
television, responds to voice and
gesture commands, and includes
Skype video calling. It has 8 gigabytes
of memory, with an updated
controller and new-generation Kinect
sensor that communicates a user's
voice and gesture commands to the
console.
The technology is built on the Xbox
operating system and the kernel of
Windows software to handle
Internet-based content.
The Xbox One chiefly competes with
Sony's PlayStation 4.
