While we already know that many
smartphone manufacturers are likely to
use Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 810
SoC for their flagship devices, there is
one interesting bit that has come out of
Qualcomm's future plans for the SoC is
that there is also a Microsoft Lumia
device in the pipeline.

So far only two devices, the LG G Flex2
and the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro , have the
Snapdragon 810 on their specification
sheets, and now Qualcomm has
announced that there are four other
companies - Motorola, Sony, Oppo, and
Microsoft - which will also use the
processor for their future devices.

Sharing the roadmap for the Snapdrago
810 SoC on Monday, Qualcomm noted i
a statement on Monday that the
company will be continuing its
partnership with Microsoft, and as a
result both are looking forward to deliver
a best in class Lumia smartphone
powered by Snapdragon 810. Though
Qualcomm hasn't given any time-frame
for the upcoming Lumia smartphone
beyond 2015, it seems that Microsoft's
next flagship that is anticipated for H2
2015 might be powered by the
Snapdragon 810.

"Microsoft and Qualcomm's long
standing collaboration has allowed the
two companies to offer compelling
business, imaging, and entertainment
experiences with Lumia smartphones
running on Windows Phone," said Juha
Kokkonen, General Manager for Portfolio
and Product Management at Microsoft,
in the joint statement with Qualcomm.
"We look forward to continuing this
relationship to deliver best in class Lumi
smartphones, powered by Qualcomm's
Snapdragon 810 processors, and offer
an unprecedented combination of
processing power, rich multimedia, high-
performance graphics and wireless
connectivity for our customers."

Last month, a report suggested that
Microsoft's new Windows 10 flagship
smartphone might release in the US
summer, which lasts from late June to
early September. The report quoted Ifi
Majid, Director of Product Marketing for
Microsoft Mobile Devices, saying that a
flagship Lumia is likely "later this
summer". It is also worth noting that the
time-frame coincides with the Windows
10 update release period for other Lumia
smartphones.
