Micromax Canvas LapTab was launched a few months back, by the company in India. The 2-in-1 with inbuilt 3G SIM support ran on Windows 8.1 out of box. But now with the launch of Windows 10, Micromax felt that it was time to change.
The company today announced the Windows 10 edition of the Canvas LapTab in the country at the same price point of its predecessor. Needless to say that not much has changed under the hood. The existing LapTab owners can easily upgrade their device to Windows 10 though.
The LapTab features a 10.1 inch (1280x800) IPS LCD screen and is powered by a quad core Intel Atom Z3735F under the hood. It has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is a provision to expand memory further with use of Micro SD card. The cores of the processor are clocked at 1.33GHz which can further be overclocked to 1.86GHz. The convertible has a 2MP rear camera along with a 2MP front snapper. Additionally the 7700mAh battery, keep the LapTab running for long hours before it loses juice.
For connectivity the Canvas LapTab comes with Bluetooth 4.0, 3G (via SIM Slot), Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and full size USB port. The device previously available exclusively on Amazon exclusively at Rs 14,999 but from now on the LapTab will become available in all retail stores across the country.
Hence it seems like, Micromax has bumped up its inventory. In case you have a sharp memory, the Canvas LapTab was first unveiled as a dual bootable Convertible back at the MWC, last year.
Unfortunately due to Microsoft and Google both standing up against the concept of dual boot, the tablet failed to materialize. Hence the company was forced to launch the same tablet a year later with Windows 8.1.As a result its needless to say that the tablet doesn't use the latest Intel SoC under the hood, so it's not the most powerful tablet out in the market.
