Micromax title sponsors for India's 2014-15 season

Indian consumer electronics giant Micromax has bagged the title sponsorship rights for BCCI's upcoming 2014-15 season, for both international and major domestic tournaments to be played in India. This means that Micromax will be the title sponsor for the 3 Test matches, 5 ODIs and the one-off T20I to be played between India and West Indies, the only home series for India in the 2014-15 season.
Micromax was the lone bidder, when the BCCI marketing committee opened the bid on August 28, Wednesday, in Mumbai. They will also be the title sponsors for this season's Ranji Trophy, Irani Cup, Duleep Trophy, Vijay Hazare trophy and Deodhar Trophy.
BCCI decided to invite bids only for the 2014-15 season as the new Future Tours Programme (FTP) will come into effect from 2015. Despite once again failing to attract sponsors for international matches in India, BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel, speaking toESPNcricinfo,sounded positive and said, "By the time the next tender would be floated, market conditions would have improved. Besides, the new FTP cycle would have started and we will be better placed to evaluate the situation."
