Micromax has partnered with Airtel to launch the Canvas 2 smartphone priced at Rs 11,999 where consumers buying the phone would get free data and voice for a year from the largest carrier in India, for a year. The device which will be sold only through offline markets will hit retail shelves beginning next week, is the first of its kind in the world which will have the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the lower end price point.
The model, which will be made in India soon, will come with free data and voice calls for a year for prepaid customers and will be limited to only one SIM per customer. Consumers buying the phone would get 1 GB data a day and 600 minutes of offnet voice calls for a month, free of charge for a year.
The Canvas 2 has a 2.5D Cover Glass with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, the Canvas 2 comes with the latest Android Nougat and 360 degree fingerprint sensor. Powered by a Quad-core 1.3GHz processor with 3 GB RAM, the new Canvas 2 has a memory of 16 GB, expandable to 64 GB, and 3050 mAh battery which will last upto 11 hours. It also has a 13 MP camera and 5MP front camera.
