Micromax A116 Canvas HD updated to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

Micromax A116 Canvas HD users have another reason to rejoice, as the Indian smartphone vendor today announced the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update for its flagship phone, MMXNewscaster reports. The update will be available at the company’s Superfone Service Centres across the country starting this week.

Micromax had launched the Canvas HD with 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and the first major update brings Android 4.2.1 to the device. According to the report, Micromax makes full use of Google’s Project Butter with this update, and there is a visible upgrade in the overall user experience.

In terms of features, the update brings a new semi-transparent notification panel, fixes the GPS delay issue and also brings Panorama support to the phone’s camera. More importantly, Micromax has also introduced support for Over the Air (OTA) function, which means that future updates should arrive faster and you should be able to update your phone while sitting at home.
