SAN JUAN: Mexico assistant coach Luis Fernando Tena insisted El Tri would still make it through the Copa America group phase despite Monday's 2-1 loss to Chile.
"We are going to fight, we will get through," insisted Tena.
The Mexicans are here as special guests with a young team after the seniors won the Gold Cup and Tena noted approvingly that "we took the game to Chile, who were practically playing at home" with most of the crowd having made the trip across the border.
"We will fight with Peru and Uruguay to get back in to the mix -- you can be sure we will battle right to the end," said Tena, who said there was no disgrace in losing to a Chilean side he says is the best he has seen to date at the tournament.
