Chandigarh, May 13 : The Medical Council of India (MCI) has increased the number of seats for MBBS from 150 to 200 in Pt B D Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak in Haryana on the request of the State Government and the scheme submitted by the institute.
This was stated by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here today.
He said the increased number of seats would not only benefit more students, but would also help in further strengthening health services. All infrastructural facilities in terms of teaching and non-teaching staff, buildings, equipment and hospital facilities would be provided as per the norms of the Medical Council of India.
Also, funds would be given out of the Plan Budget till the requisite facilities were fully provided in a time bound manner as per the norms of the Council, he added.
