Low cost Signal Antenna for 3G Usb Dongle
Dear Folks,

let me tell the situation behind this invention first before i explain our low cost antenna. I was staying in Pathankot, punjab since 2 years and i was using Vodafone 2G for the internet. i was satisfied on its 2G speed since it has an ability to give spontaneous signal strength and 230 Kpbs speed. At that time i heard about BSNL3G has launched at the town and i was attracted by their add and purchased a sim for using 3G. when i inserted it in the huawei Usb dongle it shows variation and unstable 3G speed.some times it has a sped of 1.2 MBPS and within seconds it will reduce to 150 kpbs, then 10 kpbs and 0 kpbs i was trying to make it stable by shifting its locations but unable to get stable signal and i made this antenna and got stable signal for 1.2 MBPS permanently. now i will explain the construction side of antenna.

construction

materials required

1) Juice filter mesh ( mesh should be metal not plastic and should be larger diameter )
2) usb extension cable
3) Aluminium foil

First penetrate the wire mesh with screw driver for insert the usb dongles male part. gap should be small so that the male part can be rigid and stable at the center of the wire mesh filter

wrap the aluminium foil over the mesh as shown in figure . aluminium side should be outer side and plastic should be inner

insert the dongle and connect female part of extension cable with it as shown in figure

next is the important part that you have to face this antenna towards the tower location

i have used wireless router too so i have placed the antenna on top of the wall

i request you to use your wi fi router too while trying this so that you will get positive result

remember this works for me and practically i have got positive result that's why i have posted it. you can use old ku band antenna too for getting signal along with a wireless router

try this before you throw away the dongle due to signal issue

best wishes
