The new K7 and K10 look good despite not featuring metal bodies. The back, on the other hand, features a woven design, which LG says offers ‘optimal grip’. The back also features a camera, power button, volume rocker and a removable panel that houses the SIM card trays and the microSD card slot.
LG K7 specifications, features:
The cheaper of the two smartphones features a 5-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.1GHz Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM. This feels a massive compromise when you consider that there are phones in this price range like, Lenovo K5 Plus, Samsung Galaxy On5, and even the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime, which offer better set of specifications like HD display, and 2GB of RAM, among others.
The LG K7 also features an 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera with screen flash (brightens the display to offer more light when clicking selfies), and a 2,125mAh battery. There is also 16GB internal storage on offer, which can be expanded using a microSD card. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots (nano SIMs), 4G LTE support (on SIM Card 1), VoLTE and VoWiFi support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
LG K10 specifications, features:
The smartphone flaunts a 5.3-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.3GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. Also on offer is 16GB internal storage that can be further expanded using a microSD card.
The K10 also features a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, and a 2,300mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots (nano SIMs), 4G LTE support (on SIM Card 1), VoLTE and VoWiFi support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
At this price point, the new LG K10 will face stiff competition from the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, LeEco Le 1s and the Lenovo K4 Note to name a few. These smartphones offer a much better set of specifications, and value for money.
With so much focus on the design part, LG’s new phones will surely standout in a crowd of similar looking smartphones. But the question is will it be enough for buyers to choose them over some of its rivals that offer a better set of specifications? That is something that we will have to wait and see.
