The ZUK Edge has been on the rumor mills for quite some time now, and we finally have some idea on when it will be launched. ZUK CEO and former Lenovo VP Chang Cheng has posted a teaser on Weibo confirming that the rumored ZUK Edge will be launched sometime next week.

The teaser shared by Cheng shows the front and back of the ZUK Edge along with the retail box, Androidpure reports. The renders seen on the teaser are in line with what has leaked before, especially on China’s TENAA. The back of the smartphone houses the rear camera lens, with the LED flash placed below it. The front is dominated by the display, selfie camera lens above the display, and a home button below the display. Unlike what was rumored before, the ZUK Edge won’t be featuring a dual-edged curved display like the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge . The power button and the volume rocker are located on the right side, while the SIM tray is located on the left side.

Lenovo ZUK Edge specifications

From what we know so far, the ZUK Edge will feature a 5.5-inch full HD display. At the heart will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocked at 2.35GHz, and an Adreno 530 GPU. The smartphone will be paired with 4GB of RAM, along with 64GB of internal storage. However some rumors suggest that there won’t be an option to expand the memory storage further.

On the photography front, the smartphone will sport a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Up front, there will be an 8-megapixel selfie camera. On the software front, the smartphone could run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. It is expected to come with 3,000mAh battery and connectivity options such as Bluetooth, GPS, 4G LTE with VoLTE support and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. The smartphone will weigh around 160 grams and will be 7.68mm thick.

Lenovo recently brought the ZUK Z2 to India, but named it Z2 Plus instead. There is however no word on whether the ZUK Edge will arrive at our shores. The Z2 Plus is among the most affordable smartphones in India to be powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset. The company launched two variants – 3GB of RAM plus 32GB onboard storage priced at Rs 17,999, and 4GB of RAM plus 64GB storage priced at Rs 19,999. The smartphone also features a 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel selfie snapper, along with a 3,500mAh battery. Connectivity options on the Z2 Plus include dual SIM card slots, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow wrapped under Lenovo’s custom UI.
