As Amazon India gears up to kick off its ‘Great Indian Festival’ sale starting October 1, Lenovo is offering some discounts on its recently launched flagship smartphone, the Z2 Plus. The smartphone is priced at Rs 17,999 for 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant and Rs 19,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. However, Amazon and Lenovo are bringing an exchange offer where you can get up to Rs 12,000 on your old smartphone. Those who use the exchange offer will also get Amazon India store credits worth Rs 2,000. On top of this, if you buy the smartphone using an HDFC card, you will also get a cashback of Rs 1,500. So in theory, you can get up to Rs 15,500 off, that brings the price of the Lenovo Z2 Plus 32GB at Rs 2,499 and the Z2 Plus 64GB variant at Rs 4,499.
However, you need to be really desperate to get your hands on the Z2 Plus for Rs 2,499. The Rs 12,000 exchange discount is applicable on the iPhone 6s Plus (128GB) variant. We leave it to your personal choice of letting go of your iPhone 6s Plus 128GB for the Z2 Plus (which is a good flagship Android smartphone) but you can get much better exchange price for the iPhone 6s Plus.
Apart from the iPhone 6s Plus, Lenovo has shared a long list of smartphones that are eligible for the exchange offer. These phones include the likes of Apple iPhone 5s, Samsung Galaxy A-series, Moto G3 and Moto X Play, OnePlus One, 2 and X among others. The Rs 2,000 cashback will be offered as Amazon India credits, which can be used for buying any product on the e-commerce website. Also the HDFC cashback of up to Rs 1,500 will be added to your debit or credit card after a few months.
Lenovo and Amazon India have also partnered eight banks to offer ‘No cost’ EMI when you use their credit cards. You can choose the tenure between three months, six months and 12 months. Do note, you will be charged with interest, which will be reversed later, making it a no cost EMI. Bajaj Finance customers can also avail the EMI option by offering their unique customer ID on the payment page.
Lenovo Z2 Plus specifications
The smartphone flaunts a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. At the heart of the Z2 Plus runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor (four custom kryo cores) paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM, depending on the variant you choose. On the storage front, you can choose between 32GB or 64GB onboard storage. Sadly, there is no microSD card slot for further expansion.
In the photography department, you get a 13-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/2.2 with PDAF, electronic image stabilization (EIS) and LED flash. The smartphone also supports 4K video recording, slow motion HD (720p) recording and time-lapse video recording. Up front is an 8-megapixel selfie camera of aperture f/2.0
Armed with a 3,500mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The Z2 Plus boots Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.
Lenovo Z2 features
One of the highlights of the smartphone is its U-Touch control technology that allows easy navigation through the interface. A single touch is for back, single press for home, press and hold to bring up Google Now, double press for multitasking, and swipe from left to right or vice-versa to switch between apps. That’s not all, the Lenovo Z2 Plus is also equipped with a health app called U-health that logs your health records. It can track the number of steps walked, distance covered and calories burned. The always-on activity tracker runs in background and hardly drains the battery, Lenovo says.
