Lenovo has started rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update for its Vibe X and Vibe Z smartphones. The updates will be made available in a phased manner starting from the last week of May. In an attempt to lieu more customers Lenovo has also slashed the price of the Vibe X to Rs 22,999.

In the Vibe X, the update supports application compatibility along with further security enhancements and bug fixes. The UI gets a new look with lesser icons and improved incoming call interface. The update also improves key camera features like auto focus and white balance. The update is also said to improve Lenovo power manager for better battery utilisation.

The 4.4 KitKat update brings better 4k video playback compatibility to the Vibe Z. It also upgrades the quad-core CPU for considerably better UI transitions and multi-sensory user experience, and makes the process of adding widgets to the home screen easy, claims the company.

The multi-window mode on the Vibe Z allows the user to open and work on multiple apps simultaneously and resize them on the screen better than before. Also, enhanced notification access, wireless printing capabilities, updated theme centre, automatic profile changer and expanded accessibility APIs are some of the key upgrades expected to come to the Vibe Z with this update.
