After rolling out Android Marshmallow 6.0 update to Lenovo K3 Note users in India last month, the company has now started seeding the update to Lenovo A7000 as well. Besides the latest Android version, Android security patches for the month of March are also includes as a part of the update.
The update is currently being rolled out via OTA (over-the-air) and carries a build number A7000-a_S153_151127_ROW_TO_A7000-a_S223_160405_ROW. As the update weights 1.3GB in size, ensure that you have around 2GB of free space to download and install the update.
As it is being rolled out in phases, it may take some time before it hits your device. You can also manually check for the update by heading to Settings > About Phone > System updates > Check for update.
The update brings all the Android 6.0 Marshmallow features such as Google Now on Tap for contextual search, Doze mode to hibernate the background apps when the smartphone is not in use for some time and new app permissions to control the information you share with apps.
Besides the A7000 and K3 Note , Lenovo has also announced that the Marshmallow update will be rolled out for the Vibe S1 , the Vibe P1 , and the A7000 Plus . Moreover, the recently launched Vibe X3 K4 Note and the Vibe K5 Plus are also scheduled to get the Android Marshmallow update. However, timeframe for the same is not known at the moment.
