Lenovo announced its latest series of Yoga multi-mode laptops at an event in Mumbai on June 9. Fresh from the maiden Lenovo TechWorld event in Beijing, the Yoga series has got a shot in the arm with Yoga 300, Yoga 500 and the Yoga 3 series of laptops which cater to the entry level and mid-range markets.

The Lenovo Yoga series of laptops was introduced in 2012, but so far it only catered to the high end of the market segment. With a Rs 30,490 entry point for the Yoga 300, Lenovo has brought the 2-in-1 category to the entry level market who are looking for a stylish convertible.

The Lenovo Yoga 300 sports an 11.6-inch HD display with a glossy finish with Windows 8.1 onboard. Since it belongs to the Yoga series, there are modes such as laptop, stand, tent and tablet. It will also come pre-loaded with Microsoft Office 365 for a year. It sports an Intel Pentium N3540 quad-core processor with integrated Intel HD graphics. There are three storage variants: 64GB eMMC flash storage or 1TB HDD or 500GB SSHD. The Yoga 300 weights 1.39kg and comes with Wi-fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI out, audio jack and a 4-in-1 SD card reader.

Lenovo Yoga 500 is a slightly more advanced laptop housing up to 5th generation Intel Core i7 processors. It will come bundled with Windows 8.1 OS and have a discrete Nvidia GT940M graphics solution. RAM configuration can go up to 8GB and there are two storage variants: 1TB HDD or 1TB SSHD. The Yoga 500 comes in the 14-inch as well as the 15.6-inch form factor, both with full HD displays. Just like the Yoga 300, the Yoga 500 also sports 802.11ac Wi-fi and Bluetooth 4.0. But there are two USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 port along with an HDMI out and a 4-in-1 card reader. The price for this range starts from Rs 57,990.

The Lenovo Yoga 3 is the higher end SKU sporting a 14-inch full HD display and housing a processor up to 5th generation Intel Core i7 series. The Yoga 3 is considerably slimmer at 18.3mm as compared to the two laptops seen above and comes with discete Nvidia graphics solution. There are two storage variants: 500GB SSHD or 256GB SSD. This laptop will set you back by Rs 86,990 or higher, depending on the SKU you have selected.

The Yoga 3 Pro laptop is the cream of the series, sporting a beautiful design and an interesting looking hinge mechanism. It comes with a 13.3-inch display with a 3200 X 1800 pixel resolution also known as QHD+ resolution. This variant sports upto Intel Core M-70 processor and the slim 12.8mm form factor can be attributed to the fact that the Yoga 3 Pro comes with a fanless design. It will house Windows 8.1 OS and has upto 8GB of RAM. There is only one storage variant – 512GB SSD. Just like the Yoga 3, the Yoga 3 Pro also sports JBL speakers. Considering such specifications and design, the price of the Yoga 3 Pro is a steep Rs 1,14,900.
