Mobile device maker Lenovo plans to open 150 exclusive service centres by March in over 60 towns, a top company official said today.

“We are planning to open 150 exclusive service centres by March for our products in over 60 towns that jointly account for 80 per cent of our customer base,” Sudhin Mathur, Executive Director Lenovo Mobile Business Group said.
The company will open 100 exclusive service centres by October, he said. He was speaking on the sidelines of launch of 4G smartphone models of Lenovo Z2 plus priced at Rs 17,999 and Rs 19,999.

The company will start selling Lenovo Z2 plus exclusively on Amazon from September 25 midnight. There are two models of the phone. The lower priced version has 3GB DDR4 RAM and internal storage of 32 GB while the higher end version has 4GB DDR4 RAM and 4GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage.

Both the devices have 5 inch display and 3500 mAH battery with intelligent power cut feature to prevent overcharging.

Lenovo has embedded Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset. It comes with in built U-health app that will keep track of users step, distance and calories without need of an additional smartband.

Lenovo has been expanding its footprint in Indian market with critical launches like Moto e3 Power and Moto G4 Play. The company has already confirmed plans to launch its first modular smartphone, Moto Z in India during the Diwali season.

Lenovo Z2 Plus is currently the cheapest Snapdragon 820 powered smartphone in India. The smartphone will actually appeal to tech enthusiasts for the sheer power it offers at a budget price.
