LeEco announces 'Supertainment' membership plans, Le 1s Eco at Rs 10,899

At an event held in Mumbai, LeEco has launched the LeEco Le 1s Eco smartphone at a price of Rs 10,899 for the Indian market.

It will come with one year free LeEco content membership. Introductory price for the device is Rs 9,999 for first 100,000 phones. It will go on sale on 12 May at 2PM and will be available in a gold color variant. LeEco also launched its entertainment streaming services in India, called the LeEco Membership. The service is priced at Rs 490/month, or Rs 4900/year.

In terms of specifications, the Le 1s Eco features 5.5-inch In-cell FHD display. It is powered by a 1.8GHz Helio X10 octa-core processor along with PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB RAM. The device comes with 32GB of internal storage, but has no memory expansion. However, the company has introduced LeEco Drive, digital storage with 5TB space for every LeEco user. It also sports a mirror-surfaced fingerprint sensor with a 99.3 percent precision rate.

Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the smartphone includes a 13MP rear camera with PDAF that can record video is 4K resolution, along with a 5MP front facing camera. Connectivity features include 4G, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, Bluetooth, Infrared, WLAN, USB OTG, and USB Type-C. It also supports fast charging which offers 3.5 hours of talk time with 5 minutes of charging, claims the company. A 3,000mAh non-removable battery completes the package.

The LeEco membership will offer services such as video-on-demand service, in partnership with Eros Now. It has also partnered with YuPP TV for live streaming of TV channels, with a list of over 100 channels. It has also introduced LeEco Music, which will be powered by Hungama Music. The service is said to offer over 3.5 million songs in 22 languages alongside music videos, and access to over 50 live concerts a year as well.

Other services such as Le Vidi and Le Live will launch on 24 May, while Le Music and LeEco Drive will launch in Q3.

Total disappointing event. Membership.price is high and everyone was expecting Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le 2 Max launch.
