Lava on Friday launched Iris Fuel 50, a phone
with 3000mAh battery. The company claimed
that the battery in this phone would last for at
least 36 hours with typical usage compared to
less than 20 hours available in average phone
nowadays.
Starting from October 31, Iris Fuel 50 will be
available in black colour in retail outlets across
India at a price of Rs 7,799.
The Iris Fuel 50 features 5-inch IPS display
with scratch-resistant Asahi Dragon-trail glass
protection. It has 1.3 GHz Quad core processor
and 1GB RAM. It comes with 8GB internal
memory which is expandable up to 32 GB. It is
a dual SIM phone that supports 3G in one of
the SIM slots.
The phone has 8MP rear camera with BSI-II
sensor and 2MP front camera. The smartphone
runs on the latest Android KitKat 4.4.
Commenting on the launch, Hari Om Rai,
chairman & managing director of LAVA
International said, "As smartphones are
increasingly becoming a very integral part of
our daily lives and drive a lot of tasks for us,
we need devices that are able to support
heavy usage without having the need to carry
power banks for frequent charging. Lava's
product development and R&D team worked on
this insight and with our new Fuel series of
smartphones we will address just that. Lava
has launched the 1st smartphone in this series,
Iris Fuel 50 and shall soon come up with more
products at different price points in this
series."

New Delhi: Handset maker Lava
launched a new series of Iris
smartphones under the 'Fuel' brand
which will focus on offering longer
battery life.

The first device launched in the series
is the Iris Fuel 50, priced at Rs 7,799.
The Android Kitkat operating system-
based smartphone features a
3,000mAh battery capable of lasting
up to 1.5 days without charging. It
has a five-inch display, 8MP auto-
focus rear camera, 2MP front camera
and 8GB internal memory
(expandable up to 32GB).

The device is powered by 1.3 GHz
quadcore processor and has a 1GB
RAM.

The super-efficient smartphones
under this series are specially
designed to last for long working
hours without the need of frequent
charging, Lava said in a statement.

"Amidst the hardware progression
that has happened ever since
smartphone category was introduced,
battery has remained a cause of
concern with the users throughout.
Smartphones are increasingly
becoming a very integral part of our
daily lives and drive a lot of tasks for
us," Lava International Chairman and
Managing Director Hari Om Rai said.

Devices that are able to support
heavy usage without having the need
to carry power banks for frequent
charging are needed, he added.

"Our new Fuel series of smartphones
will address just that. We shall soon
come up with more products at
different price points in this series,"
he added.
