Earlier this year, Microsoft added a
handful of OEMs to their Windows
Phone hardware partners list to
manufacturer Windows Phone
handsets, especially in the emerging
markets. A number of manufacturers
in the list were from India, who have
been releasing budget-friendly
Windows Phone devices -- the Xolo
Win Q900S , for example, which is
touted as the world's lightest
Windows Phone handset.
Now, Karbonn, another OEM from
the same region, has
released Titanium Wind W4 handset,
which is available on Amazon.in for
Rs. 5,999 (almost $97), making it
cheaper than the Lumia 530. Here's a
summary of specifications it has to
offer, which aren't too different from
the Lumia 530:
4-inch 800 x 480 display
1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm
Snapdragon processor
512MB RAM
4GB expandable storage
Windows Phone 8.1 OS
Dual SIM
5MP autofocus rear camera with LED
flash
Front-facing camera
3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth,
GPS.
The handset will hit retail in three
color options: red, white and black,
but only the white colored variant is
available at the moment.
