With Nokia's devices business soon to be a Microsoft business, Finland's most well-known smartphone maker Jolla will begin selling its first smartphones later on today, with a little help from Finnish mobile operator DNA.
Finnish startup Jolla will deliver its first Sailfish OS devices at 7pm today at a launch event in Finland's capital Helsinki.
As Jolla announced earlier this month, Finnish mobile operator DNA is offering a batch of 450 Jolla phones for one evening at a pop-up store in central Helsinki to customers that have pre-ordered the device.
For the past two years, Jolla has been working towards the launch of its Linux-based Sailfish OS, which it hopes OEMs will license, and which will feature on its own 'Other Half' smartphone.
The device was made available for purchase at €399 (£337) through a pre-order campaign that Jolla launched in May and which was booked in July.
