I have done Rs. 20 IUC recharge Top-up on my JioPhone. But I am unable to make even non-Jio calls with this top-up as my basic Rs. 49 plan is expired... Does Jio force to have a recharge plan like Rs.49 in order to use the IUC top-ups?

Yes, you need to recharge with a base plan to use talktime.

Thanks for the info DJ Roy. But this is such a bad rule by Jio where we can't use our own IUC talk-time in cases where the base plan has expired.
I agree. Jio have gone greedy now. While Airtel and Vodafone Idea's base plan is expensive by ₹50 but they give you true unlimited calls. Meanwhile you will most likely spend way more than ₹50 extra on Jio for the IUC charges.

This is nothing new, this has been the case since Jio was launched. You must have a base plan to use any secondary recharges.

Yeah. I mean to say, we never did Top ups before. Only very few people did for international calls. So nobody was aware that they need a base plan. Now almost everyone is using top up and its news for them.
Ok, then it would have been better to say "Most people never needed secondary recharge before"

If you compare tariffs of jio and others all are equal now after jio introduced iuc packs. But jio provides 500mb to 1 gb higher data than their rival networks in some plans.
