I assume they are saying that existing Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema users with an active subscription are going to have it for free and Jio Hotstar subscription is not actually free. As many users already subscribed hence getting the subscription after the app transition.

I am an existing subscriber, but dont have Hotstar Premium. Yet, I am able to access all content on Jio Hotstar.
Earlier in Jan'2025, Disney Hotstar was giving 4 hours free access per month, so just want to be sure it is not just 4 hours free per month.
News reports seem to suggest all content can be watched without a subscription "for now".

On JioHotstar My Premium Subscription showing till April 5th From Jiocinema but i never taken any subscription on Jio Cinema Don't know how I'm getting it

Reliance-Disney to stop completely free IPL cricket streaming in India

The Reliance-Disney joint venture will no longer offer completely free streaming for IPL cricket matches and will adopt a hybrid model where subscription kicks in after content consumption reaches a threshold, three sources told Reuters on Thursday.

The entity will also launch a new rebranded streaming app, with plans starting at 149 rupees, said the first source.
