Hey guys, I’ve been dealing with some really annoying speed issues lately—fluctuations and drops while watching videos on any site and even when uploading files to Google Drive or JioCloud.

First off, about video streaming—whenever I watch videos, they keep buffering, or the speed randomly drops. This happens mostly on 2K videos, and it’s way worse on Wi-Fi compared to a wired connection. I’ve noticed this on YouTube, Facebook, and even live matches.

But here’s the weird part—when I run speed tests (like 20 times in a row) on Ookla, Fast.com, and Cloudflare Speed Test, there’s zero fluctuation. The speed stays stable, and even the latency is super low (around 4 ms on Wi-Fi).

Now, about uploading—Google Drive is a mess. On Wi-Fi, the upload speed is cut in half with heavy fluctuations. On a wired connection, it does use full speed, but there’s still fluctuation—like if an upload should normally take 10 minutes, it ends up taking 15 minutes because the speed keeps jumping up and down.

Telegram is also acting up—whenever I open a group with new photos or videos, it takes about a minute to load them. But after using Telegram for 10 minutes, the issue kinda disappears. If I clear Telegram from RAM and reopen it, the problem comes back.

I’ve already tried different DNS servers (Cloudflare, Google, Quad9), but nothing changes. If anyone has a fix for this, please let me know—this is seriously driving me crazy!

In the case with telegram, I agree. For me, it says connecting very often and sending files not working for most of the time until I close the app and reopen it.

Off topic, you once mentioned in your review that there's a settings in the jiofiber configuration page where you can set the signal level of wifi to 100 percent (default is 75) like that. Can you provide the screenshot of the settings? Because I can't find any such settings there.

I had this issue some weeks ago, but it doesn't happen anymore. I was really annoyed because downloading those videos would give full speed, but still struggles while streaming.

All streaming apps are working fine now.

@MaxPayne in search box type -> Basic Configuration 2.4 GHz -> Maximum Transmit Power ...... here you can find . same on 5ghz you can try

lucky brother... here on my site totally trash

The only thing that I could think of that may cause this, is JioFiber's stupid merging of the 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz bands to have a single SSID, as discussed in detail in the thread quoted below (where you have already had interactions on). I'm suspecting this as the rootcause because you mention your issue being isolated to only Wi-Fi and not Ethernet. Your device may be going mental because the JioFiber router may be automatically & repeatedly switching the connection to your device between the 2 bands (that have the same SSID now).

Also, regarding your streaming issues, which device(s) is this happening on? Is there a Setting on your device to force it to connect to only the 5Ghz band over Wi-Fi? You can try that out if such a Setting is available. If it works alright that way, we would have at least identified the issue. Then we could look for a workaround.

Hi all, I just found out that my Jio Fiber router (JCOW414) received an update today. There are some noticeable changes, including a modernized interface in a few sections (I'll share some screenshots). However, several important features have been removed with this update. The available options are now quite limited, and UPnP mode is gone. Also, Radius server configuration is no longer available.

Earlier, it was possible to adjust the QoS settings in the WMM section, but now all configurations are locked and can’t be changed. Also, the time zone is fixed to India by default, and there’s no option to modify it anymore.

If anyone discovers other missing features after this update, please share them here so we can keep everyone informed.

Are you sure that settings are still there or it got removed by their firmware updates like how they removed some other settings such as UPnP? Because whenever I type anything in search box, it shows nothing. Actually I tried in mobile browser. Is the search box only works in desktop browser?
