Jerome Taylor, the West Indies fast bowler, has retired from Test cricket and has informed the selectors of his decision, the West Indies Cricket Board said on Monday (July 11) in a statement. The 32-year-old will still be available to play One-Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals.

Taylor was not considered for the series against India later this month. In total, he has played 46 Tests, picking up 130 wickets after making his debut in 2003 against Sri Lanka.

Known for possessing an excellent outswinger, the injury-prone fast bowler's best moment in Tests came in 2009 against England when he picked up 5 for 11 at Sabina Park in Jamaica to help his side win by an innings. He managed to register four five-wicket hauls and also contributed with the bat - scoring a fifty and a century in his career.

He went wicketless in his final Test against Australia earlier this year in the rain-affected game in Sydney and ended up picking only two wickets in the entire series.
