James Anderson looks on course to make England's line-up for the fourth Test against India after coming through a net session on Wednesday.

England's premier strike bowler did not bowl in the nets on Tuesday due to a "minor" thigh injury, but bowled for half an hour on Wednesday without apparent discomfort.

England skipper Andrew Strauss told Sky Sports News he is 'confident' that Anderson will be fit to play.

"He seems absolutely fine," Strauss said. "Like all these things it is a bit of a niggle, and we will wait and see how he is in the morning before deciding. But we are very comforted how he came through today."

England took the precaution of calling up Graham Onions as cover for the fourth Test at The Oval, once their pace spearhead reported stiffness in his right leg after last weekend's series-clinching victory at Edgbaston.

Anderson was involved in team fielding drills on Tuesday but on Wednesday he bowled at near-full pace, before taking part in a short session of sprint training.

England will be bidding to wrap up a 4-0 series whitewash when the final Test gets underway on Thursday.
