An Indian court has summoned Alibaba and its founder Jack Ma in a case in which a former employee in India says he was wrongfully fired after objecting to what he saw as censorship and fake news on company apps, documents seen by Reuters showed.

The case comes weeks after India cited security concerns in banning Alibaba’s UC News, UC Browser and 57 other Chinese apps after a clash between the two countries’ forces on their border.

Lol.. How can we summon Jack Ma? India operation head should be summoned. / IMO UC should just comply with Indian Law or get lost from here. But the question is Do we have any law which say it is illegal to censor anything against China? Genuine question. Except FOE there is probably nothing.

You missed the peddling of fake news part?

I used UC news in 2018, I don't remember the exact year, but around that time. What they used to do at that time was, copy news from another site, give it a sensational headline and post it. Note- The headline should be sensational and it should mention that fake news source. If they are doing the same thing now also, nothing big will happen to them by a court. They will claim it is auto generated news by algorithm. So the blame will go to that fake news source. And they will take care of it in future. Now for that fake news source, we can't find it's owner even if we want. In India lawyers are smart. Politicians are corrupt, Bureaucrats are useless! At least for most part. So we should not except anything big. At best they will pay some fine.
