I have issue with plan upgrade from super plan monthly subscription (BSNL partnered) to premium plan. When try to upgrade they ask to pay full amount 1499rs for a year.

Why i can’t pay the difference only?

Please someone guide me on this. Thanks

Any promotional plan are subjected to exact given plan . You cant upgrade those plans by paying the remaining amount.
So it looks at you as a new subscriber and hence have to pay full amount.

This is not true. I have upgraded my semi annual Super plan, activated using Times Prime, to Premium in previous years. Even now, I have upgraded the Super plan to Super+Ad-free and it also shows upgrade option for premium as you can see from the screenshot below.

Of course not all promotional plans are eligible for upgrade because some of those packs may not be available in Hotstar by default. For example, here BSNL is offering a monthly Super plan which is not available as part of the offerings from Hotstar. You can only buy the super plan in quarterly or annual basis.

These monthly super plans are exclusively designed for partner apps/services. Also monthly Premium plan is not available via mobile app. It can be purchased only via Web. Hence the monthly upgrade option may not be available to him on the app and it shows the annual option.

im not talking about bundle plans , specifically talking about promotional plans.
I believe as you said it might be subjected to the condition of the plan. But 90% plans have t&C applied as not able to upgrade .
Promotional plans normally give the lowest tier plans with discounted amount.

Like i have jiotv+ which gives hotstar promotional subscription. But if i want to buy premium. It asks me to purchase with full amount.

Yes, I also read the FAQ, they mentioned some of the partnered plans work for upgrades and some do not. It's a crazy thing that would not be useful if they provided these plans without an upgrade. If not BSNL should give the option to upgrade with a balance amount and charge in their billing is a good choice as Jio Postpaid Netflix subscriptions.

Now a days upgrade/downgrade or not working properly. Visit the nearest office and place your request.

What office he needs to visit to upgrade the bundled Hotstar plan? He is not looking to upgrade the BSNL FTTH plan but the bundled Hotstar subscription.

The key point here is whether the partner app is providing an commercially available plan on the respective OTT platform or offering a specially curated plan made for the partner app.

If it is a commercially available plan on the platform then the platform would allow upgrade of that plan. If not, then upgrades may not be available.

Jio postpaid offers an already existing plan on Netflix and hence the upgrade is possible. But in case of Hotstar, they provide only monthly super plan to all their partner apps, including Jio. However Hotstar do not provide monthly super plan on their platform. So, it doesn't consider you as an existing customer and hence upgrade is not available.

Probably this might be the reason. Even on JioFiber we don't get commercially available plan bundled, they provide a customized Disney+ Hotstar (Jio) plan and hence need to pay full price to upgrade the plan.

Local BSNL office only.
