In case you been living under a rock. China has passed a new security law for Hong Kong. I am not getting into politics here. I am just gonna stick to the tech part here.
New security law gives Hong Kong government authority to snoop into individual's data.
Big 3 social media sites Google, Facebook and Twitter straight up denied sharing data with the Hong Kong government.

Meanwhile yours truly TikTok decides to move out of Hong Kong. Instead of denying to share data.

Mind you here in India. They said they will never share their data with Beijing. This app is a China based app. If New Delhi is asking for data. Their option here is too move out of India. But what happens when Beijing asks for Indian user's data. Do they quit China then?

So, what do you guys think. Was the government being concerned with security about TikTok justified?
