Kerala’s most promising youngster, Sachin Baby, was today signed up by Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming IPL season.
Baby hails from the state’s Idukki district and has been a consistent performer for Kerala in the recent past in junior and senior levels. He was among the top run-getters in the invitational Buchi Babu Tournament and Vijay Hazare Trophy for Kerala.
A left-handed batsman cum off-spinner besides being an agile fielder, Baby caught the eyes of the Royals team management during the IPL selection trials held at Rajasthan.
Baby was the vice-captain of the Kerala Ranji trophy team last season and has also been selected for the Deodhar Trophy South Zone team after his consistent performance in the Hazare trophy.
