Apple’s iPhone has been ranked as the most reputed mobile phone brand in India by a study conducted study by BlueBytes in association with TRA Research. In terms of volume, Apple iPhone had the highest positive media appearances followed by Samsung despite the explosion controversy.

Micromax , at the third position, has emerged as the first Indian consumer electronics company to feature in the list with a Brand Rep Score 94% lower than Samsung. Xiaomi and Nokia grabbed the fourth and fifth spot respectively.

The report listed 72 mobile phone brands from 12 different countries, out of which Indian origin phones held the maximum positions – 29 brands, where 15 brands were from China.

“Reputation can be seen as a currency that the brand can earn through positive action, communication, or sometimes erode due to lack of the same. Reputation has to be consistently maintained, monitored, and enhanced,” said Pooja Kaura, Chief Spokesperson for India’s Most Reputed Brands.

“In a cluttered space like the mobile phone industry, with diverse brands attempting to capture consumer attention, customers buy and recommend on the basis of reputation, making it the most important influencer of buying decisions,” she added.

Lenovo, Huawei, and Motorola ranked sixth, seventh, and eighth respectively. LG and Intex Technologies made it to the top ten.

The study was conducted in major English and Hindi print media across 9 cities as a representative of the news across all media.
