Domestic handset maker Intex has launched a curved screen smartphone under its Aqua series, the Aqua Curve, for Rs 12,490.

The device, which runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, has a 5-inch curved display(540 x 960p) and comes with a rear camera of 8MP along with a 2MP front camera, the company said in a statement.

The dual-sim device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. It has 4GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD card, and a 2000mAh battery.

"Aqua Curve is a smartphone for next generation mobile phone users who like to make their own style statement and prefer to stay connected, while on the go," Intex Business Head (Mobile Division) Sanjay Kumar Kalirona said.

The company said that Aqua Curve is the first Indian handset to feature a one glass solution (OGS) based curved display. The device is available at over 40,000 retail outlets, more than 42 exclusive Intex retail stores and other leading ecommerce portals.
