Intex has launched yet another smartphone under its Cloud series, called the Cloud String V2.0 . Priced at Rs 6,499, key highlights of the smartphone are VoLTE support, fingerprint scanner and a built-in SOS feature. The Intex Cloud String V2.0 is available via Flipkart. The smartphone is available in champagne and silver color options.
The SOS feature is an emergency rescue feature which allows users to send SOS messages to preset recipients in case of emergencies. To activate the SOS feature, users need to press the volume buttons for three seconds. The smartphone will send the SOS message to three contacts (which users need to assign). The message will include location of the sender as well.
Intex Cloud String V2.0 specifications
The Intex Cloud String V2.0 flaunts a 5-inch ONCELL HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood runs a quad-core Cortex A7 processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM. It has 16GB onboard storage and can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.
The Intex Cloud String V2.0 sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with Samsung sensor and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. The smartphone is powered by a 2200mAh battery, which the company claims, delivers up to 7 hours of talktime. It offers connectivity options like 4G VoLTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and microUSB.
Specifications and features
Looking at its price and specifications, the Intex Cloud String V2.0 could face competition from Reliance LYF’s entry-level VoLTE smartphones, which start at as low as Rs 2,999.
That said, the Cloud String V2.0 is also one of the most affordable smartphones to come with a fingerprint scanner. Intex already offers
Cloud String HD and Cloud String V2, priced at Rs 5,599 and Rs 6,499 respectively with fingerprint scanner. Smartphones like the
Micromax Unite 4 and Coolpad Note 3 Lite come with fingerprint scanner and similar set of specifications in the same price range.
It is also one of the first smartphones to have built-in SOS feature. LG earlier this month had launched the X Screen , which comes with a dedicated SOS button. It is worth pointing out here that the government has made it mandatory for all new smartphones selling from January next year to have the SOS feature.
