Intex will soon launch a new smartphone dubbed Aqua A4 with a price tag of Rs 3,999. As you would have guessed, the talking point of this smartphone is that it runs on Android Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box. Intex has also preloaded apps like Gaana, News Point, QR Code, and Xender among others.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Intex Aqua A4 sports a 4-inch WVGA display with 245ppi. Under the hood is a 1.3GHz Spreadtrum SC9832 quad-core SoC paired with 1GB DDR3 RAM. On offer is 8GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, micro-USB and GPS.

Intex Aqua A4 with VoLTE support, Android 7.0 Nougat launched for Rs 4,199

As expected, Intex has launched the Aqua A4 smartphone in India, aggressively priced at Rs 4,199. The highlight of the smartphone is that it is currently the most affordable smartphone running Android 7.0 Nougat OS. Intex’s integration of Android Nougat on an entry-level smartphone marks hope for the OS to increase its presence. Android Nougat was last recorded to be running on 7.1 percent devices globally. The Intex A4 also raises the bar for entry-level smartphones generally, as manufacturers are focusing on this market heavily especially for Tier-II and Tier-III cities in India.

With Android 7.0 Nougat running on the Intex Aqua A4, the smartphone will be equipped with features like split-screen that allows usage of two apps at the same time. More features that come with Android 7.0 Nougat include inline replies to notifications, and an expanded ‘Doze’ power-saving mode. This restricts device functionality after the smartphone remains unused for a certain period of time.
