Facebook expands Instagram Reels to India amid TikTok ban – TechCrunch

As scores of startups look to cash in on the video content void that ban on TikTok and other Chinese apps has created in India, a big challenger is ready to try its hand.

Instagram said on Wednesday it is officially rolling out Reels — a feature that allows users to create short-form videos (up to 15 seconds long) set to music or other audio — to a “broad” user base in India. The Facebook-owned service first began testing Reels, which has been widely referred as “TikTok clone”, in select markets late last year.

So innovative!
It's so id*otic move by instagram 🤦🏻‍♂️
WhatsApp 👉 Hike

Just saying Kik > Hike

Only Instagram was left with which I used to spend time comfortably, but now some people will also potty on Instagram after the Reels comes. Now, even here, loud and clumsy songs will be played and useless things will increase considerably. :angry2:

Facebook rolled out its own version of social media rival TikTok in the United States and more than 50 other countries on Wednesday, embedding a new short-form video service called Reels as a feature within its popular Instagram app.

Instead of making such things,
Instagram should first concentrate on creating it's own emojis or adopting Facebook emojis.
All major apps such as Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter have their own emojis. Even our forum has it's own smilies(emojis). Instagram uses the inbuilt keyboard emojis and people who use a phone with older versions of android or iOS won't be able to see these emojis in posts or when a person sends it to them in Direct Message.
They should take a note on this.

Still no app till date has matched the level of tiktok. They even can not properly copy its dashboard, interface etcv.

Looks true now. But over a time period we may get better app. Alternate app requires time to get posts
