InFocus is known for launching affordable smartphone with a decent set of specifications. Since its arrival in India, the company has launched smartphones under its Bingo and M series. Now, it is all set to debut its ‘Epic’ series, and will be launching the Epic 1 smartphone on October 25. The company has already revealed on its Facebook page that the Epic 1 will be available on Amazon India with a price tag of Rs 12,999. InFocus has started taking pre-orders for the smartphone.
InFocus has revealed almost everything about the Epic 1 ahead of the launch. One of the talking points of the Epic 1 is the 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6797M deca-core processor under the hood, which is paired with a Mali T720 MP2 GPU and 3GB of RAM. This makes the Epic 1 among the cheapest deca-core powered smartphones available in India. Talking about the design, the InFocus Epic 1 seems to be come with a metallic body featuring a camera, LED flash and fingerprint scanner at the back. Up front, the smartphone comes with a near-bezel-less display, selfie camera and sensors. The power button and volume rocker is placed on the right, while the SIM card tray is placed on the left.

The InFocus Epic 1 flaunts a 5.5 inch full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) On-Cell display, and it offers 32GB onboard storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card. In the photography department, the smartphone comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera with features like optical image stabilization (OIS), PDAF and image tracking technology. Up front, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/1.8 aperture.
The Epic 1 also features a 3,000mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough to offer 10 hours of talk time and 500 hours of standby time. Connectivity options include, 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, and a USB Type-C port. On the software front, the Epic 1 runs on Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box wrapped under InLife 2 UI on the top.
At Rs 12,999, the InFocus Epic 1 will have to compete against the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (32GB), which is priced at Rs 11,999, Lenovo Vibe K5 Note and LeEco le 2, which are priced at Rs 11,999 and Rs 11,999 respectively.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Note runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with company’s own Pure UI.
The LeEco Le 2 features a metal unibody design, and comes with a fingerprint sensor. Le 2 sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 652 processor, 3GB RAM, and 32GB non-expandable storage. At the rear is a 16-megapixel snapper, while at the front is an 8-megapixel snapper. The Le 2 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow on top of eUI 5.6. The smartphone is backed by 3,000mAh battery. The device comes with USB Type-C port and supports fast charging.
