Bharti Airtel, India's leading telecom carrier added maximum 2.5 million new subscribers in the month of January, followed by Idea Cellular with 1.2 million new customers, and Vodafone with 1.1 million new customers in the month, according to COAI GSM data.
Telenor stood at the fourth position with 0.72 million new subscribers in January. Aircel added 0.4 million new subscribers, followed by state-run MTNL with 9,285 new customers.
Airtel has 245.79 million customers, followed by Vodafone and Idea Cellular with 194.71 million and 173.16 million subscribers, respectively.
Videocon lost 212,276 customers during the month. It now serves to 67,45,902 subscribers in the country.
The overall GSM base reached 761.44 million with the addition of a total 5.82 million new subscribers in January 2015, up 0.77% from previous month.
During the month, UP East telecom circle added 0.84 million new subscriber in the country.
