The BCCI CEO Rahul Johri, on Wednesday, shared a star-studded picture of himself with former Indian Test captains and officials. The image was that of Johri, alongwith Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Dilip Vengsarkar and officials like IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla and BCCI treasurer Anirudh Chaudhry. The group was on their way to Kanpur, the venue for India’s Test match against New Zealand.

India begin its three match Test-series against New Zealand on Wednesday at Green Park, Kanpur. The match is the 500th time that India has been represented in the longest format of the game. The match also marks the beginning of a long season for India as they will go on to play 13 Test matches by February 2017, all at home.

The Green Park track promises to be a true Indian Test wicket where spinners will have a major role to play and skipper Virat Kohli will have no hesitation in going in with Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Amit Mishra. Historically the odds are heavily stacked against the visitors. New Zealand has not won a test match against India in India since 1998.

On the other hand, India have won nine of their last 10 Tests played at home. The one match that did not result in victory was a draw against South Africa in 2015 at Bangalore in what was a match affected by the weather.
