India-made Creo Mark 1 smartphone promises a new feature every month
Creo, an India-based startup that will soon launch its first smartphone named Mark 1, has promised to add a new feature to the upcoming device every month. The new features will be added via software updates that the company will push over the air.
The move will create a distinction based on software features rather than hardware and thickness, which is how most smartphones are differentiated in the market nowadays.
Creo Mark 1 reportedly runs on Fuel OS, a customized version of Android that will get productivity-enhancing features on a monthly basis. It will also come preloaded with a Retriever App that can help locate the device if it is stolen.
In terms of looks, Creo Mark 1 sports a metallic frame on the side, raised glass on the front and back. Below the screen are soft-touch buttons for Home, Back and Tasks buttons.
Though no official specs have been released yet, leaked reports say that Creo Mark 1 has a 4.6-inch QHD screen (1440x2560p), 1.9GHz octa-core Helio X10 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, microSD card support and dual-sim cards. For imaging, the smartphone is said to have a 21MP rear camera with two-tone, dual-LED flash that can record 4K videos and 8MP camera for selfies.
Import-tracking website Zauba says the black colour version of the smartphone costs Rs 16,500, so the market price of Creo Mark 1 is expected to be around Rs 20,000. At this price, the smartphone will compete against the likes of Lenovo Vibe X3, OnePlus 2 16GB, Moto X Play 32GB and Asus Zenfone 2.
