New Delhi: The latest Forbes rich list
has thrown in big surprises for India.
According to the list, India is now
home to 100 billionaires.
Reliance Industries Limited chief
Mukesh Ambani remains the richest
Indian. However, the biggest leap in
wealth is for the founder and
Chairman of Adani Group, Gautam
Adani, who is now 11th on the list,
adding nearly $4.5 billion to his
wealth which reached $7.1 billion on
soaring shares of his companies.
Founder and Managing Director of
Sun Pharmaceuticals, Dilip Sanghvi is
the second richest person in India
and business tycoon Azim Premji
stands third in the list.
"In 2014, India's outlook has moved
very quickly from gloom to boom.
The new federal government's
mandate for change has sparked
euphoria in the stock market causing
a seismic shift in Indian wealth this
year," said Naazneen Karmali, India
Editor of Forbes Asia.
