Idea Cellular, India’s third largest telecom company is now offering long validity data packs for postpaid customers, according to a report by Telecom Talk. The postpaid data packs are similar to the prepaid data pack offers rolled out in September.
The long validity packs come in two denominations- Rs 500 and Rs 1500. Under the Rs 500 pack, customers will get 2 GB instant data valid for 30 days. The subscribers can then avail 1 GB data at recharge of Rs 125. The total validity of the offer is 6 months.
As part of the Rs 1500 offer, customers will get 6 GB instant data valid for 30 days. The subscribers can then avail 1 GB data at recharge of Rs 50. The total validity of the offer is 1 year.
Idea Cellular was the first one to introduce a long term data plan for prepaid customers where users could get 6 GB of 3G or 4G data for Rs 1498 and subsequently at Rs 51 per GB. Airtel had also started offering 15 GB of 4G at the cost of 1GB data to its prepaid customers through the myAirtel app. Vodafone also came up with similar plans later.
Also, Idea Cellular had earlier reduced tariffs of its prepaid 2G, 3G and 4G internet packs across all circles where Idea’s 2G pack for Rs 19 was offering 75MB for 3 days validity, now offers 110MB instead.
The 3G/4G pack costing Rs 22 for 65MB of data for 3 days now provides 90MB 3G data for the same validity.
