India’s third-largest telecom operator Idea Cellular Tuesday extended its partnership with the US-based digital entertainment services firm RealNetworks to offer Ringback Tone (RBT) services to subscribers in 10 telecom circles.
RealNetworks will deliver RBT services to Idea Cellular’s consumers in Gujarat, Rajasthan, UP West, UP East, Bihar, Orissa, West Bengal, Kolkata, Assam and North East, the US company in a statement said.
Aditya Birla group ’s telco, through this engagement, will enable its subscribers to use rich service features at affordable pricing.
"The partnership with RealNetworks will enable our large customer base in key markets to access globally advanced, innovative and affordable service features," Idea Cellular's chief marketing officer Sashi Shankar said.
"We are pleased to extend our partnership with Idea Cellular as the preferred RBT provider," RealNetworks president Max Pellegrini said.
The company is working together with Idea Cellular since 2012 for RBT services.
Through this collaboration, Pellegrini said that the company would be able to grow its presence even further in the Indian market.
RealNetworks maintains partnerships with various telecom carriers and offers RBT services to more than 18 million subscribers worldwide.
