In a startling revelation that can challenge the sanctity of the BCCI, International Cricket Council (ICC) had already warned the board over the involvement of Gurunath Meiyappan with bookies after the start of IPL 6 in April.
CNN-IBN has accessed the transcripts of conversation between Vindoo Dara Singh and Meiyappan, both of whom have been arrested by the police in the betting scandal that has tarnished the image of Indian cricket in the past two weeks.
The transcripts shows Meiyappan warning Vindoo to be careful about his dealings. It also shows Meiyappan telling Vindoo "ICC has warned BCCI about me".
The transcripts shows the former CSK boss giving specific orders to Vindoo on amounts to be placed. Meiyappan's instructions were also about specific players in other IPL teams playing on a day. It also shows Meiyappan was even instructing bets on specific runs in an over.
It is also revealed that someone in the BCCI had tipped off Meiyappan regarding the ICC warning, which in itself is a crime under Indian laws.
The latest revelations have raised certain questions that why did the BCCI ignore ICC Anti-Corruption and Security Unit's specific information? Why did the BCCI not act against Meiyappan as soon as ICC gave them specific information?
The development has also brought the entire BCCI administration under suspicion of keeping mum.
Meiyappan, a top official of the CSK and son-in-law of BCCI chief N Srinivasan, was arrested by Mumbai Police on charges of cheating, forgery and fraud.
On Friday, the custody of Vindoo and Meiyappan was extended till June 3. The Mumbai Police had argued that further custody was necessary to complete their investigations at a Mumbai court where they had been produced.
The Mumbai Police said that they confronted Meiyappan with the contents of his diary, which contained notations of several meetings.

4:55 p.m., Kris Srikkanth: I am very shocked about this development ... Cricket needs to be cleaned up completely. If ICC had warned the BCCI, then it's a very, very sad day. If it is true, then I am very surprised why BCCI had not taken the corrective measure ... We cannot fool the public."

4:45 p.m., former Sri Lanka captain Arjuna Ranatunga: "Entire IPl governing body should resign if they had been informed about it. I think this is a big worry for Indian cricket. Other nations look up to Indian cricket.
"If [the] ICC had informed BCCI, the BCCI should have ensured action should be taken ... sad state for Indian cricket."

4:40 p.m., ICC reacts: "Correspondence between the ICC and its Members remains confidential and is not discussed in public. As a standard operating procedure, the ICC doesn't comment on ACSU's activities. The ICC's ACSU is cooperating with the BCCI and India Police in their investigations," the apex body's statement read.

4:30 p.m., Kirti Azad's reaction: "I am surprised and not yet surprised. It is a very serious charge .... The entire BCCI should resign ... I feel really agitated and ashamed that I am associated with BCCI ... This is a very serious charge; this has been happening for a long time.
"This is cheating and criminal conspiracy. They have cheated 121 million people of this country ... If the allegations are true, that the ICC had informed the IPL and BCCI ... then all of them should resign from their post, go to the nearest police situation and hand them over to police ... if the ICC had informed them, they are biggest traitors ... They should all go to jail," Azad said.

4:20 p.m., AC Muthiah talks to CNN-IBN: "ICC must have passed this information to the BCCI president ... This is completely going out of hand; action should have been taken after the warning," he said.
