Newly appointed International Cricket Council‘s (ICC) chairman N Srinivasan on Wednesday said that the game’s governing body will be devising new strategies of revenue generation, which will enable them to get cricket loving public back to the stadium.

Srinivasan spoke during a ‘High Tea’ organised by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (CA), which saw a host of representatives from the other Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) units in attendance.

The notable representatives were from cricket associations of Mumbai, Jharkhand State, CAB, Goa, Andhra, Hyderabad, Haryana, KSCA, and Kerala, while notable absentees were associations of Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Assam, and Tripura. It was organised to celebrate Srinivasan faction’s retaining power at TNCA as well as his elevation to the top post of ICC.

“He spoke about ways of getting the live viewership (spectators at the stadium) back. The ICC chairman wants that revenue generation should increase where in more money will help them get new ideas to bring the crowd back at the stadium,” a member of a state unit present at the function told PTI on Wednesday. “The second most important point was to ensure that Associate nations should be aptly rewarded for their performances with a chance to rub shoulders with the big boys,” he said.
