Kingston, Jun 17 : India's stand-in skipper Suresh Raina admitted that he needs to shrug off his poor form before the Test series against the West Indies by "ironing out" his flaws.
Raina made 82 runs at an average of 20.5 only from five one-day innings. He confessed that his shot-selection left a lot to be desired in the latter half of the series which India won 3-2 in the end after losing the fourth and fifth ODI.
"I need to spend some time in the middle. I just can't go out there and play big shots. I will look to have a couple of sessions with the coach," Raina said after the team's seven-wicket loss in the final ODI here.
"It is disappointing that we lost the last two matches but I am happy that we won the series. We need to enjoy the moment," he said.
The Men-in-blue had a good chance to score an imposing total but faltered in the batting powerplay and was bundled out for 251 with 15 balls to spare, losing the final five wickets for 26 runs.
"I feel we fell short by at least 25 to 30 runs. But full credit to Andre Russell for the manner in which he bowled at the death." India will now be involved in a three-match Test series starting on Monday with another depleted side in the absence of openers Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendullkar, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan and S Sreesanth.
