Hull have moved to terminate the contract of their club record signing Jimmy Bullard while there has been Premier League interest in the midfielder.

The 32-year-old has not featured for the Tigers this season after being placed on suspension following an incident on a pre-season trip to Slovenia.

Signed from Fulham for £5million in January 2009, Bullard is contracted to the club until the end of the 2012-13 season and has the right of appeal.

Bullard has been frequently linked with a move away from Hull and his representatives have revealed two clubs from the Premier League and two from the Championship have expressed interest in him this week.

Hull chief executive Mark Maguire said in a club statement: "I can confirm that the club has given notice to terminate the contract of Jimmy Bullard.

"Mr Bullard has a right of appeal and it would be inappropriate to make any further comment at this time that might prejudice this process.

"The club will continue to focus on the development and performance of the squad going forward and is concentrated on efforts to deliver a positive season on and off the pitch for the Tigers.

"We respect that there will be significant interest in this matter but will continue to act with professionalism and at all times in the best interests of the club."

Bullard's agent Simon Dent told sportinglife.com: "This matter is now being dealt with by Jimmy's lawyers and we are confident that common sense will prevail.

"In the last 24 hours we have had interest from two Premiership clubs and two in the Championship. Jimmy is still registered as a Hull player so until his player registration is released we can not move these discussions forward."
