Huawei Watch, which was announced at the Mobile World Congress in 2015, has launched in India at a price of Rs 22,999. It will go on sale on Flipkart from 11 April at 2PM.

Huawei’s watch is a fully circular one with a 1.4-inch touch-sensitive AMOLED display, scratch-proof sapphire crystal lens and a stainless steel frame. The screen resolution is 400 x 400 pixels resolution in 286 ppi pixel density. The Huawei Watch has Qualcomm 1.2GHz processor, 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM and Bluetooth 4.1. It also has a heart rate monitor sensor, 6-Axis motion sensor, and barometer sensor that automatically detects and tracks in real-time if a user is walking, running, biking, hiking or sleeping.

Huawei also claims that its Watch is “made of more than 130 components” and that the crown, frame and hinge are built from high-quality and scratch resistant cold-forged stainless steel making it 40 percent harder. The frame is 42mm in diameter. It also has an intuitive press button according to the company, though it doesn’t specify much what it means by that.

The Huawei Watch will come with a magnetic charging station. The Huawei Watch runs Android Wear and can receive SMS, email, Google calendar alerts, phone call notifications. It is compatible with smartphones running Android 4.3 or higher.

Speaking on the launch of the Watch, P Sanjeev, vice president, sales for Huawei and Honor consumer business, Huawei India said, ” Huawei watch is the first smartwatch in the Huawei wearable family and also the first watch in the market to truly bridge the gap between fashion and technology. The smartwatch has received a great response globally from consumers and celebrities and we hope to keep up the momentum in the Indian market.”

Even Moto,Asus,Samsung,Sony have not been able to make profits selling smart watches costing less than 15K and they are coming with a watch priced at 23K
Simply not a profitable venture :u

Smart watch is a terrible idea bcoz of its very small screen. Developers should think about watch with holographic projection just like Holo lense
