The Android 5.0 Lollipop update rolled
out to the 2013 flagship HTC One last
month was the last update from the
company for the smartphone, according
to HTC's Mo Versi.

HTC's VP of Product Management, Mo
Versi while replying to a Twitter user
confirmed that only the Google Play
Edition of the HTC One (M7) will receive
the Android 5.1 update. The Twitter user
asked whether the HTC One will be
receiving the Android 5.1 Lollipop
update, which was rolled out earlier this
month. Versi also confirmed that the
Taiwanese company is pushing for an
update by early April.

The news could come as a shock for HT
One (M7) users who received the Androi
5.0 Lollipop update early last month,
specifically the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop
update with Sense 6 UI.

The company at MWC 2015 confirmed
that the latest Sense 7.0 UI will be rolled
out to all of its 2014 handsets later this
year. At the time, Sense 7.0 was only
available to the HTC One M9.

HTC Sense 7.0 is the latest UI offering b
the company, and adapts to user's
behaviour. The new UI features 'Morning
Bundles' that bring the top news and
user's personal agenda of the day when
one uses the phone for the first time in
the morning. Another is the Restaurant
Bundle that shows up on the lock screen
around meal times with suggestions on
nearby restaurants one may like. These
suggestions are powered by data from
Foursquare, Yelp, and other sources
popular in different markets.

HTC earlier this week announced the
much-anticipated 'Uh-Oh' protection
plan that will offer a free phone
replacement in the case of a cracked
screen, water damage, or a carrier switch
within the first twelve months from the
date of purchase. HTC's 'Uh-Oh'
protection plan will include the new
flagship, the HTC One M9 , alongside its
predecessor, the HTC One (M8) . It's
worth noting that the new protection pla
announced by HTC is only for US
customers and there is no word on a
broader rollout of the service.
