Android Marshmallow was officially released in October last year and has been steadily gaining market share ever since. HTC ‘s smartphones are the latest in line to get the Marshmallow update, and among the first is the Desire 820 smartphone. This update not only brings Android version 6.0.1 to the smartphone but Sense 7.0 UI as well.
As the update is being rolled out in phases, it may take some time before it hits your device. You can however manually check for the update, by heading over to Settings -> About phone -> System updates -> Check For Update.
The latest update brings all the goodness of Android Marshmallow including the improved Google Now on Tap, better app permissions to control the data you share with apps, and the Doze mode to hibernate the background apps when your smartphone is kept idle for some time. One of the first things you notice post the update is the ability to shift apps to the microSD card, thereby allowing you to free up space on the phone.
