HP is reportedly going to launch its first Android smartphone this week. The phone is going to be an inexpensive model, targeted to emerging markets like India, reports 9To5Google.

According to the blog, the price of this phone is expected to be around $200 and it will be released in several markets.

The report also adds that the phone will be closer to Galaxy Note 3 in size but will feature comparably inferior specifications, similar to Samsung’s rumoured Galaxy Note 3 Neo.

In related news, a device named HP Slate 6 VoiceTab has appeared on Bluetooth SIG website, which looks to be the upcoming HP smartphone (tablet?). The same device has also been spotted in GFXBench database, which reveals that it packs Marvell’s PXA1088 quad-core SoC, Android 4.2.2, 720p HD display and on-screen buttons.

No other details are available at this point but HP seems to have started importing Slate 6 units to India as per import data from Zauba. If 9To5Google’s sources are right, Slate 6 could indeed be the HP Android smartphone that will launched in India as early as this week.
