HP Pavilion Wave, Modular Elite Slice PCs Launched at IFA 2016...

HP joined Acer and Lenovo to announce its own desktop PCs at IFA. The company announced the Pavilion Wave and Elite Slice desktops running on Windows 10. The Elite Slice is a modular commercial desktop with cableless connectivity, and the Pavillian Wave sports a cylindrical 'speaker-like' design that can support two 4K displays simultaneously.
The HP Pavilion Wave is priced starting at $549.99 (roughly Rs. 36,800) and will be available from September 23 on the company's website. The HP Elite Slice on the other hand is priced at $699 (roughly Rs. 46,800) and is expected to be available sometime this month.
Beginning with the Pavilion Wave, the computer is crammed into a small cylindrical shaped structure for portability and easy storage. It has three USB 3.0 ports, one USB 3.1 Type-C port, one HDMI port, one Display Port, Gigabit Ethernet, and a microphone jack. It can support two 4K displays simultaneously, and is powered by the sixth generation Intel Core i7 processor paired with 16GB of DDR4 RAM. It comes with a 2TB HDD, and an optional dual drive with 128GB of SSD. Users can also add the optional AMD Radeon R9 M470 discrete graphics of they wish to.

The Elite Slice desktop is a modular device allowing you to snap on additional components if required. HP has introduced three optional snap-ons at launch - a speaker, a disc drive, and a VESA plate. The actual desktop does not have speakers and a disc drive, but are introduced as snap-ons. The audio module will bring in 360-degree speakers for listening to music and videos, and the optical disc drive module will let you read and write discs on to your PC. It has a fingerprint sensor for secure login, integrated Wi-Fi for connectivity, capacitive one-touch buttons, and a wireless charging top panel to enable smartphone charging. The Elite Slice measures at 165.1x 35x165.1mm and weighs 1.047kg. It is powered by up to sixth generation Intel Core i7 35-watt processors, and has a fan pipe ring for cooling purposes.

Additionally, HP also launched the Elite Slice for Meeting Rooms combo - which includes the HP Elite Slice, the HP Collaboration Cover, HP Audio Module and Intel Unite software - priced at $949 (roughly Rs. 63,500). The combo is expected to be available sometime this month. Alongside, the HP EliteDisplay S240uj monitor was also launched from $429 (roughly Rs. 28,700) and is expected to be available in October. Lastly, the 55-inch HP LD5511 Large Format Display was introduced at a starting price of $999 (roughly Rs. 66,900) and is expected to be available sometime in September.
